Come learn about the four pillars of digital media from Marc Melkonian, one of today's online media "gurus." With 14 years of experience in the computer industry, Marc has worked in Microsoft's Digital Media Group and for Online Video Services, a leading Internet broadcasting company. The four pillars of digital media that will be discussed are: 1. Recording - Hear about best practices for optimizing video and audio for Internet delivery during recording 2. Media Capture and Compression - Learn the basic principles of how a codec works, the difference between encoding and transcoding, and the difference between formats like Flash, Windows Media, QuickTime, Real, and H.264 3.
