Sam Russell, an experienced local producer and PMCA member, will present the behind-the-scenes story of an HD documentary program he has just completed for Hagens Recording Studio of Princeton. Shot in Switzerland, the subject is Eurythmy, a movement art which, although developed nearly a century ago by Rudolf Steiner, remains one of the best-kept secrets in the world of the performing arts. This documentary introduces eurythmy and may help restore it to its rightful place as a twenty-first century art form. The program’s initial distribution is on standard definition DVD, but it will soon be released in HD on Blue Ray and/or HD-DVD.

Sam shot the program in HD for Hagens, using Panasonic's top-of-the-line AJ-HDC27F Varicam camera. He also edited the program and then conformed it in HD at Hagens. There are many interesting production details about the project, including lessons learned about shooting in HD, carrying off a location shoot in Switzerland, and choosing how to tell the story and present the art. Herb Hagens and others from the studio plan to be along to show selected clips on a large HD monitor. We also hope to have the VariCam along to demonstrate the image quality and other features of this great camera.

As always, the presentation will be adapted to fit the interests of the audience and feature a rich Q & A.
