Frederic Haubrich is a French-born filmmaker, editor, and technologist. Before founding Lumiere Media (http://lumieremedia.com) in 2001, Frederic was Chief Technology Officer for Hooked on Phonics in San Francisco, CA. Since that time, he has written, produced, and directed documentaries, independent narratives, commercials, and television pilots. Several of his projects have garnered the attention and praise of video industry giants such as Sony and JVC for their high quality visual appeal and low cost production.

When HDV was introduced to the market, Frederic and his team developed Lumiere HD (http://lumierehd.com), a software solution that allows editors to edit HDV in Final Cut Pro on the Mac platform. Over the last two years Lumiere HD has evolved with the HDV products available to keep up with the latest advances in HDV technology. Today it is the only solution for editing 24p HDV on Mac.

Frederic's expertise in HDV production technology has made him a frequent and popular speaker at industry events such as NAB, MacWorld, DVExpo, and film festivals around the country. His latest project is a feature film currently in post-production entitled Tomorrow is Today starring Scout Taylor-Compton (Sleepover, "The Gilmore Girls"). He directed the film, which was shot on HDV, during the summer of 2005 at the New Jersey shore. (Trailer available online at http://www.lumieremedia.com/tomorrowistoday/tomorrow_trailer/).

Frederic is a unique talent who will provide our organization with valuable insights into the cutting edge of both shooting and editing technology.
