This meeting is a story about how you can succeed by "just doing it." David Schoner of the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission will detail how he got financing, hired a crew and actors, and found a distributor, among other things, on the way to making the feature film, Minimal Knowledge. David will tell how he accomplished this feat and provide guidance to all budding independent producers who want to follow in his footsteps.

For Minimal Knowledge David received the Audience Award for Best Drama at the Sarasota Film Festival; the Audience Award for Best Feature and the Las Charalas Award for Best Picture at the Ajijic (Mexico) International Film Festival; the Audience Award for Best Picture and the Jury Award for Best Picture at the Garden State Film Festival. The film was recently sold to the distributor York Entertainment.

Previously, David produced the independent feature film Electing Jack Powell which was selected to screen at the Independent Feature Film Market in New York. He has been commissioned to produce several shorts including The Reluctant Samaritan and Watch Out.

David received his B.A. from New Jersey City University in Film Production.
He produced several award-winning short films including The Drowning
(Student Academy Award Nominee), Squeegee Boys (winner of Paramount Pictures Production Award), and Broken Fences (winner of Warner Brothers Production Award ).

He received on-screen credit and thanks from the producers of the acclaimed
features Welcome To The Dollhouse (Winner, Grand Jury Prize Sundance Film Festival), I Shot Andy Warhol (Toronto Film Festival), Stonewall, Return To Providence, Happiness (Nominee, Sundance Film Festival), Getting To Know You (Nominee, Sundance Film Festival), Six Ways Till Sunday, Take One, Tim Robbin's Cradle Will Rock, HBO's original features Path To Paradise and Hysterical Blindness, the Comedy Central television series Strangers With Candy and the short film Jorge (Sundance Film Festival).

Since 1985, David has worked for the New Jersey Motion Picture and
Television Commission. He is currently the Commission's statewide Production Coordinator/Associate Director. Under David's guidance as Production Coordinator at the Film Commission, VARIETY ranked New Jersey 5th in the country in the amount of production work. NEW JERSEY MONTHLY magazine ranked David as having the 4th best job in State of New Jersey working at the Film Commission.

Along with his writer/director collaborator, Greg Corrado, David devotes his
time, talents, and treasury to raise funds for the local Adult Literacy Program.
