From a time-critical presentation by the CEO, to online sales meetings, to live product demos, to remote presentations at industry conferences, there are plenty of cost and time-saving reasons to use live video streaming. Being able to reach a geographically dispersed audience on their personal computers with the power and immediacy of video is an attractive capability for businesses.

In our kick-off meeting for the 2001-2002 season, we'll explore the applications and technology for live video streaming. Featured will be a presentation on the topic from New York City-based Activate, one of the largest live streaming companies in the business. Expect to see demos of the technology via high-speed Internet connections.

Moderated by Andy Kienzle, Director, Content Solutions for Gravity Shift Solutions the discussion will cover the following topics:

1. How does live streaming save money for corporations?
2. What's involved in producing a live streaming event?
3. What are the key technologies involved?
4. What are some of the common pitfalls and limitations to avoid?
5. How much does it cost to do a live streaming event?
6. Is streaming always a good idea for a live event and what are the alternatives.

As always, audience questions and participation will be a big part of the evening. Join us for an enlightening look at a topic that's critical to today's new media production.
